My husband and I started Wild Texas Soaps in July 2015. Why? Two reasons. Well, one reason that quickly evolved into the second: To fight my son's eczema, and help others who suffer from skin issues.
As a military family we moved a lot. We had become accustomed to almost every development that came with a big move - good and bad. But when we moved back to out home town, San Angelo, Texas, my son developed eczema. It was bad. At it's worst his bottom, the inside of his thighs, and his stomach and back would crack and bleed. We tried steroid creams, thick eczema lotions, even strange home remedies, but nothing worked. Finally, after doing some research I found goat's milk soap. I was skeptical, but so desperate at this point that I was willing to try anything. And I was amazed at the results. My son's eczema started to clear up and every day it looked better. The relief that set in can't be described. Parents will understand. We watched our baby suffer and had no way to help. Finally, something was bringing him relief. I was overwhelmed with relief for him.
After a little more research I realized I could make the goat's milk soap myself. So I did. I failed a lot in those early days, but learned a lot too. Eventually I came up with a soap bar that felt better on my skin than any bar I'd ever used, and my son's eczema was gone - in winter! I was over the moon with delight at my little concoction. So the logical next step came to mind. I could solve this problem for others who suffered from eczema and dry or sensitive skin.
Well, I approached my husband warily because this would cost some money and I had already spent - let's just say a lot - learning how to make the soap in the first place. I was pleasantly surprised. He was on board from the beginning and he was just as excited as I was. We both saw this as an opportunity to help others the way goat's milk soap had helped our son. We launched Wild Texas Soaps on 17 January 2016 and the response was overwhelming. Our friends and family loved our soaps (of course), and social media loved us too. The enthusiasm was palpable. We've since developed goat's milk and honey body wash, goat's milk body lotion, and our signature goat's milk Face & Body Butter. The response from our customers has been unanimous. They have fallen in love with Wild Texas Soaps products and we have fallen in love with them. Because of their kindness and love of our product we're gaining huge momentum. This time next year we hope to be able to devote all of our time to Wild Texas Soaps and with progress steadily rising our prospects look good.
Since we've been in business we've received recognition from our local paper, The San Angelo Standard Times, Newswire, and several PR.com articles. These articles and links can be found in our News section in our main navigation.
We've also received kudos from our customers. Here are just some of the reviews we've received so far:

And Makeup Artist and YouTube Vlogger Mackenzie Holik from Mackenzie Holik Makeup who's review you can find HERE, and on her own blog linked below.
"Okay, I’m obsessed. I’ve used that word approximately 25 times so far, but it’s the truth. This soap rocks my world. I loveeeeee how soft it is. I don’t know if I’ve ever described a body wash as “soft,” but it’s the perfect word. It’s so unbelievably hydrating and has the softest scent alive. It’s so fresh yet so warm. It’s so strong yet so subtle. It’s unbelievable. I’ve always been a vanilla-loving girl, but over the last couple of years, I’ve gravitated more towards fresher, floral scents. I think this soap is the perfect bridge between warm and fresh. It’s amazing..." - Mackenzie from Mackenzie Holik Makeup.
So, in short, if you're reading this you are the reason we're in business. What started as a journey to help my son has become a mission to help as many others as we can. I hope you try our soaps, lotions, and body butters because I know you'll love them. We are truly grateful that you are here and want you to know that our dreams can only come true with your support. Thank you so much.
