As promised I’m back with some more info about our Goat’s Milk Soap Bars, but in the last post I didn’t even mention our Body Wash. We recently perfected it just in time for the launch of the Wild Texas Soaps website and it’s heaven in a bottle. Really, we used Goat’s Milk and Honey to make it – i.e. Manna from Heaven for your skin. The key to our soaps and body wash is in the chemistry. The bar soaps are made with goat’s milk, shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, and glycerin – a product that the store-bought brands take out to preserve shelf life. Our body wash is created using goat’s milk, honey, avocado oil (a superfood for more than eating), and glycerin.
What’s so great about glycerin?
For one, it’s a humectant. That’s a huge buzz word right now. A humectant draws moisture to itself. This means that if you wash with glycerin soap the humectant remains on the skin like a protective sponge drawing moisture to your skin instead of stripping it from your skin like many store bought alternatives.
The second and most important thing to us at Wild Texas Soaps is that glycerin soap is natural. It isn’t made with skin irritants like others you’ll find on the shelves. This is especially great for dry skin and sensitive skin sufferers like my son who I mentioned in the first post. Eczema is miserable to deal with. It can be uncomfortable, itchy, and even painful. So when we discovered that this formula worked for us I almost cried with joy.
What’s the benefit of keeping your skin’s moisture consistent – besides the obvious reasons of course? Skin that maintains its optimum moisture level is softer and more supple and in the long term that means fewer wrinkles and blemishes.
But we didn’t stop at glycerin. In addition Wild Texas Soaps are made with goat’s milk – for optimum moisture levels and comfort. Because it’s made with animal proteins as opposed to plant proteins like many moisture additives it is more comfortable binding to the skin – which means longer lasting moisture and comfort levels.
Then we added avocado, olive, and coconut oils to our product. These oils are fantastic for skin health. Not only do they provide extra moisture, but they leave the skin feeling luxuriously soft from the moment you step out of the water. These oils also provide amazing health benefits for the skin. From avocado oil’s super fats and olive oils vitamin E abundance, to coconut oils skin healing and strengthening properties. You can find out more at these links:

Last, we added Shea Butter and Honey. Shea Butter has been around a while. We all know that it feels great on skin. But what makes Shea Butter so special is the seemingly never-ending list of things it can do. From basic antioxidant boosters to microcirculation Shea Butter can do it all.

Honey is delicious. We know this. But how can it benefit skin? You’d be surprised. It’s wound healing, antimicrobial, and it’s recently been successfully tested as a natural sunscreen. Check out the full article at http://www.livestrong.com/article/112833-benefits-honey-skin-care/.
This has been an exhaustive post, but it doesn’t stop here. I didn’t even touch on the amazing clays we use in our soap bars. I just wanted to give you a well-rounded idea about how our products, and why they work. We put a lot of thought, work, and trial into everything we do at Wild Texas Soaps because we use them too. Check out our FAQs page at … to learn about the clays in our soap bars and the rest of the ingredients in all of our products, and shop with confidence that these products are safe and effective.
